The Echo Bug in His Belly
A strange old tale about a man whose every word is echoed by a tiny voice inside him, illustrated in rice-paper collage.
About the book
Based on accounts in classical Chinese literature, the story follows a man with an unusual illness: a tiny voice inside his body repeats everything he says. His search for a cure turns an old folk belief into an odd and playful tale.
Artist’s note
The story is funny, but it comes from an older world. I used rice-paper collage, flat shapes, and a limited palette to keep that sense of age while giving the characters room to act.
