I’m Zhenjun Liu, a picture-book illustrator based in Los Angeles. For more than twenty years, I’ve worked with writers and publishers to turn stories into books for children and families.

About

I begin with the story.

I am a Chinese picture-book illustrator and children’s book producer based in Los Angeles. My work often grows from history, memory, folklore, and real lives. I look for the human feeling at the center of each story, then build the pictures around it.

I have collaborated with China Children’s Press & Publication Group, Jieli Publishing House, Qingdao Publishing House, and Hope Publishing House.

From 2020 to 2021, I served on a Ministry of Education review committee for children’s picture books. In 2022, I joined an expert panel at the Ministry’s Curriculum and Textbook Research Institute to review textbook illustrations.
